One for the Boys

Hello again Magnolia lovers, we have a fabulous challenge for you this week at Magnolia Down Under, one for the boys!! Now I usually find boys cards really, really difficult, I guess it is because there is nowhere to put all the ribbon and flowers and glitter, lol! but I had this image, stamped up for my by the fabulous Kylie Blonde and when I was at Debs place a couple of months ago and raiding her stamps I came across this tree and knew that they would work together really well, and when I was sitting thinking of what to do for this challenge a little light went 'bing' in my brain and I knew it was time to put these two together on a card :)
You cannot really see in the photo but I have used chalks to create a cloud background behind the tree, and my copics to create the grass (i had a ball doing this one night while watching TV, it's probably my favourite part of the card, hehehe).
The brown paper under the image is Magnolia, from the last xmas collection, and i have sanded and distressed the edges. The green spotty paper (in my favourite shade of green, it's so gorgeous) October Afternoon, fly a kite, from Delicious Papercrafting. The base is kraft, yep, I have to use it on everything now! I have created a tag out of acetate and stamped my happy birthday sentiment on there, and sponged the edges for depth then I popped an eyelet in the top and some string. The mesh ribbon is from Tickled Pink Stamps, who will be listing the new bon voyage travel collection Magnolia stamps for pre order on the 15th!!
I am also going to enter this card over at
By the cute and girly - Warm summer days
Ok, I think that's about it, hop over here to check out the rest of the DT's fabulous creations and I can't wait to check out all your fabulous for the boys creations :)

Oh Fran, your tree is amazing, I enlarged the pic so I could admire it and wowzers, it looks like bark!! And I love the highlighting you've added to the leaves and trees, and and Edwin, he is alright, lol, just kidding, he is coloured gorgeously, though I think just for laughs, his tights should be painted pink!!
