Introducing Lylah

Woo Hoo, day 3 of previews, are you all having fun, I know I am. Today we have Lylah, isn't she a stunner. She was the first of the fashionettes that I made up into a card :) I love the bob hair cut, she makes me think of Mary Tyler Moore, lol! I wanted to go for a more vintage feel with this card and have again used October Afternoon papers from Delicious Papercrafting, inking my edges, and kraft card stock (I am in LOVE with this stuff!!) The pearl flourish and mini pearls on the butterfly bodies are all Flourish with a Bling, available from Tickled Pink Stamps, along with the tassel ribbon(so perfect on your vintage style cards, I must get some more, Kellie has it in black too!) The butterflies are a MS punch and Lylah has been coloured with my copics. I have been meaning to write down colours as I go but I get distracted and usually colour a couple of things at once and there are markers everywhere... yep, I'm not one of those 'neat and organised' crafters. You will probably never see a pic of my workspace on Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday, lol! But I have to admit, at the minute it's not too bad, I cleared up the usual explosion of stuff that covers the top of the desk and for the last 2 days have been working on my wedding invitations (and they have, so far come together fairly quickly, but I have probably just jinxed myself) OK, enough of my waffles, lol, here is the card, featuring the magnificent Lylah:
Make sure you head on over HERE... and check out the pink Ladies amazing work, and maybe get yourself into the draw for a Lylah of your very own :)

We just could not wait to bring you the previews for these gorgeous gals and today we have the stunning and dazzling 20's Evie from the 1920's....
Isn't she sweet! don't you just love that hat!! I figured with kinda bust paper I would keep the card fairly simple, a doily and a bunch of flowers, nice and girly for out little lady :) The paper heart doily is available from Tickled Pink Stamps and the papers are October Afternoon available from Delicious Papercrafting, who are having a massive 40% off sale on now!
Hope to see you all again tomorrow for day 2 of our previews and make sure you head over here for a chance to win this cutie. All of the Lolitas will be available for pre-order at the end of the previews and, great news for all you stampers OS, Tickled Pink Stamps ships worldwide!!

Time for something sweet...

Something sweet it the challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under and when I heard that I just had to use these papers, I adore them with their cute little bon bon candies, and I bought this MS border punch ages ago just to use with these papers (not sure what I will do when I run out, oh well, lol!) and have finally used them together, and what image is sweeter than little Tilda with her lollipop!!
The DP's lace and stamps are all from Tickled Pink Stamps, who ship stamps world wide, and keep an eye out for some new releases coming very soon.... really exciting stuff!!! Well that's my short and sweet (haha!) post for today, check out the DT's amazing inspirational works and I can't wait to see your sweet creations.
Oh, and just a little note apologising for my recent absence, the whole family seems to be catching bugs and sharing them around so I have not been around as much as I would have liked (to be honest I would have liked to have spend the last 3 weeks in bed with the laptop and a box of tissues, oh well) but we are finally getting better so I will be back very soon :)

Therese a swirl over here, and a swirl over there...

It's a swirly swirl kind of day! (I think I was channeling a bit of playschool there, lol!)

Hello and welcome to another challenge over at Magnolia Down Under. This week we want to see swirls, lots and lots of swirls, perfect as I am presently in love with rhinestone/pearl flourishes (available here...)
It's an easel card today, it had been a while since I had made one and was suffering from withdrawals, hahahaha!
I have used Jolly Roger Tilda from the fairy tale collection and some of Kellie's influence mush have rubbed off as I have gone with the pink and black :) I stamped the skull and crossbones and crossed swords pattern onto some pretty, but kinda bland pink paper with a little swirly pattern on it, then I distressed the edges with some black ink and I ended up with something I was pretty happy with for a girly pirate card. Add the usual pins and flowers and ribbon and this is what you get...And here is my darling Tilda all ready for an adventure on the high seas.

The sentiment stamp is from the Kraftin' Kimmie pirate set which, along with Tilda, the swirly bling, black net ribbon and charm, is available from Tickled Pink Stamps. While you are there make sure you check out the Doohickeys (LOVE the name!), pre-order for the new Magnolia Wedding Collection, and other new surprises in stock!!

Tickled pink to bring you...

Phew, sorry about this ladies, I was supposed to post this daaaaaays ago but I have had a sick little guy on my hands and all my crafty/bloggy things got put on hold.
This month at the Tickled Pink Stamps monthly challenge we have another card for you, with a twist, we would like to see you make a bookmark to match! I was going to make a bookmark that detached from the front of the card and was therefore part of the sketch, but then I came across this tutorial and had to give it a go! I have used the heart meltingly sweet Lilith (love her to bits) available at Tickled Pink Stamps . I have kept the card really simple and under embellished as with all the layers and folds it is fairly thick to begin with.

Here is the inside(sorry about the crappy lighting, I did not notice it when I took the photo and this was the best one I had of the inside) I left the two panels on the left hand side for writing on and on the right are two pockets for the bookmarks.

Here is a better lit shot of the inside and a full view of the bookmarks, all Lilith with hair to match the DP.

And here are the bookmarks back in their pockets.

I hope you all join us this month for a fabulous challenge (I loved the bookmark twist) and there is a fabulous, dare I say pink-a-riffic prize up for grabs!!!

Happy Birthday to everyones favourite Princess!

Kristy, this is for you baby!!

Hahaha, now, I did post this last week so I don't know if you have actually received it yet, if not then look away... if you have then this is what it looked like before it was smooshed and destroyed in the post :)

I finally got my ballerina Tilda on a card, it's a gatefold. I thought she was appropriate as she was wearing a tiara, and then I added a princess crown charm.....

I even paper toled...

Then I decided to really ru with the princess theme and here is the inside!
The 'princess' is one of those kaiser words made out of bling, you know the ones, another princess Tilda and the butterflies because whenever I look at a card and think something is missing I hear Kristys voice saying "add a butterfly" seriously... she probably only said it once or twice when we were at Debbies but I am very suggestable and it's stuck in there now! If you see lots of butterflies now you will know why.

And here is the little princess from the inside, she is a bit sparkly but it did not really show in the photo.

Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTY!!! Mwah! Mwah!
Your next stop is... JACKIE

I'm hooked

So, I have not been creating much lately, my mojo packed up and I was feeling so lost I could not even sit at my craft desk, I had just lost all my motivation. So instead, because I felt so lost sitting around with nothing to do (I usually sit on the couch with the soon-to-be hubby and colour once the kids are in bed) I decided to have a go at crochet! It looked quite relaxing and, I will admit that my first attempts a few weeks earlier resulted in my being asked to stop because the other half found my constant swearing a little distracting while he was trying to watch something, lol, but I went and got a new hook and it was all good. I saw a pic of this headband a while ago in someones etsy store and while i was randomly searching for something else I found a pattern for it, then after I made a few I added the inner row of petals to this one.

After a week of crochet I have a small pile of these now, but it was so nice to unwind and whip these up I could not stop :) i made some with 3 rows, some with 2, and I have tried several different flowers. I crocheted until I could not move my fingers any more, LOL!!

So, I will be back with a card or two over the next few days, I forced myself to finish one off and now I am feeling like I am getting back in the groove... or I could just show you more headbands, bahahahaha!!!

*sigh* ok, I give in..

After months and months and months of saying I was not going to make my own wedding invitations it looks like I might have to. We have a wonderful friend who is a printer who said he will do all the printing and the cutting for me (yay, no tedious cutting!!) all I have to do is come up with a design... you would think that would be easy I did!!

I have been googling like mad all evening and found very little. All I know is I am liking the invitations with pockets.

So why are you telling us your problems I hear you ask..... yeah, I did... because I desperately need your help ladies. If anyone out there could let me know if you have any brilliant invitation ideas, or templates, tutorials, something with dimensions or instructions would be great. i have sen quite a lot of pictures but very few with details (I guess they don't want to share) and I have been playing around a bit and trying a few things out but I am not sure how happy I am with the dimensions yet :)

So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... please, pretty please, pretty please with a cherry on top!!

Summer release day at Spesch!!

Happy release day everyone, to celebrate Summer for all you lucky devils in the northern hemisphere Spesch Stamps is releasing a range of summer images!! Yay, i did feel warm and toasty when making this card, a cure for those winter chills perhaps...? i think the images are simply adorable and so much fun and had planned to have a few more cards together but life kind of got in the way... Sorry, it's another dodgy photo, I will have to work on my editing considering the weather will probably be crappy for another 4 or 5 months :)
I have used papers from the October Afternoon, fly a kite stack, available from Delicious Papercrafting. I just love these papers, that's why I stamped my sentiment on acetate and attached it with brads, it's a bit fun and did not cover up the paper and make the layout look overcrowded. I was pretty happy with that idea and can see myself doing it again!
I am entering this card over at Cupcake craft challenges who are looking for summer cards.
Make sure you check out the rest of the new images, available today, at Spesch Stamps!!
